I have struggled with dry skin for many years, but it is only in the last year that I have really worked to find a skincare routine that works for me and my skin. It’s amazing how the right products can really make a difference. No more tight skin or dry patches here! Keep reading to see my top skincare essentials for dry skin, including a face cream, an eye cream, an overnight hydrating mask and a cleanser. Read more
If you read my post last week, comparing the Clarins lip oil with the Essence lip oil, you’ll know I recently discovered the Essence brand. Today I am putting it to the test again, this time comparing the Anastasia clear brow gel vs Essence lash brow gel mascara. Keep reading to see full reviews of both brow gels and which one comes out on top.
Although Christmas is over, winter is very much still here, and with it comes dry air, dry skin and cracked lips. This winter, I have discovered a couple of lip oils, and today I will be sharing them with you. I have a high-end option and a drugstore option: Clarins Lip Comfort Oil vs Essence Prettifying Lip Oil. Keep reading to find out how they compare in terms of packaging, formula and value.
Becca blushes are some of the most pigmented, beautiful blushes I have ever used. So when I heard Milani Baked Blushes were an amazing drugstore alternative, I was excited to give it a try. Keep reading to see if Becca Songbird is a dupe for Milani Baked Blush Luminoso, including swatches of both.
I wrote a post a few months ago where I compared the Marcelle Micellar water with the Garnier Micellar water (see that post HERE), and basically I explained how amazing the Marcelle one was, and how useless the Garnier one was. #spoileralert When I finally ran out of the Garnier one, I went to the store to buy the Marcelle one, and again, I couldn’t find it! Walmart, you are letting me down with your selection! Anyways, beside the pink bottle of Garnier Micellar water I got last time, I saw there was a blue one. And upon closer investigation, I wondered if this could be the product I was looking for all along…
Rachel (AKA RachhLoves) is a Canadian YouTuber, and she is one of my absolute favourites. I don’t remember how exactly I came across her channel, but in the last two years I have become obsessed with YouTube, so it was only a matter of time. Rachel mostly makes makeup videos and Pinterest hack videos. What I love about her is her humour and her honesty. Watching her feels like you’re chatting to your best friend.
So when she announced she was coming out with a beauty box, I was super excited! I had never ordered a subscription box before, and I figured this was a good place to start.
April has been such a lovely month. The weather has been breaking 100-year-old records, and I even wore shorts once or twice this month! Although it seems to be cooling back down to regular spring temperatures for now, the hot weather has made me so excited for swimming in the lake this summer.
The majority of my favourites this month are hair-related, because I went on a quest a few weeks ago to find some better quality, colour-friendly products. I’ve been colouring my hair for the last three years, and I’ve been using the shampoos that say “for colour-treated hair,” but I recently discovered that most of those shampoos still have sulfate in them, which is apparently not good for your hair.
I have been using micellar waters as my eye makeup remover for over a year now. I wear waterproof mascara, so I find it is necessary to take it off before washing my face with my normal cleanser. Today we are going to compare the Marcelle 3-in-1 Micellar Water and the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and discover who comes out on top.
February may have been a short month, but I discovered quite a variety of new things in those 29 days. My February Favourites are a mix of beauty products, a book, a YouTube channel, and even a food item! Keep reading to find out what I’ve been loving, and be sure to let me know if you’ve tried any of these as well.
With winter comes snow, cozy sweaters, warm socks and hot chocolate. There is also something about winter that makes me more excited to try out new makeup looks. Maybe it’s because glitter and gold and dark lips are all the rage, and even though I usually keep my makeup pretty simple on a day-to-day basis, I do love getting glammed up!
My 2015 beauty faves cover a variety of skin care and makeup and are all products that I first discovered this year. I’m sure this list is not exhaustive, but these are some of my top-rated, most-used products of 2015. Take a look and let me know if you’ve tried any of these yourself! 🙂
