Earlier this month, I went to Toronto for the first time! One of the best experiences I had while there was go to the Love Lock sign in the Distillery District. I had seen pictures of it before I went and knew I wanted to go there, but it was so much better than I anticipated. I’d never seen anything like it before! I am so excited to share some pictures with you and how we got the perfect couple photos with the love lock sign.

As soon as I saw the love sign, I was amazed and impressed, but also stressed out about how we were going to get pictures with it when there were so many other people around. It is so cute and such a romantic thing, having other people in the background was really going to ruin the esthetic.

But wait!

While standing there pondering how we were going to make this work, we noticed the man selling the locks was taking pictures for one couple, and he appeared to be taking lots of them, and getting people out of the way. Bingo!

We went over to his stand and saw he was selling the locks for $10, so we picked one out and wrote our names on it, then he took our camera and proceeded to take pictures of us! It sounds like such a simple thing, but he was amazing. He asked if he could take a bunch of photos (of course!) and he took around 20 pictures of us from all angles, including action shots while we locked the lock onto the sign. Such great moments to capture on camera!

Of course you can bring your own lock if you want to, but if you don’t have anyone to take photos of you and your partner, I highly recommend buying from this guy. Just a note, he told us he’s not there in the winter.

  • How cute! I want to add a love lock somewhere someday… My husband thinks they’re silly but he’d humor me. 😉

  • what a total meg-babe! why is there noone in my life who takes candid photos of me?! what a hero.

lovely memory to have in photo-form. me and my boyfriend put love locks on the famous bridge in paris when we lived there, such a lovely idea ♥ ♥ ♥
